ASTON VILLA star Trezeguet has joined Istanbul Basaksehir on loan for the remainder of the season.
The winger, 27, joined the Premier League side from Kasimpasa in 2019 and has appeared 64 times for the club.
He had an instant impact helping them secure their top-flight status as well as reach the Carabao Cup final.
However, he was ruled out of action for seven months after suffering a serious knee injury against Liverpool last season.
He made his return from the bench for Villa on January 2 in the loss at Brentford and then headed to the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt.
He appeared seven times at the tournament and scored the goal that sent them to the semi-finals against Morocco.
But he and Egypt were heartbroken in the final after being beaten by Senegal on penalties.
Villa boss Steven Gerrard now has Philippe Coutinho, Emi Buendia, Leon Bailey and Bertrand Traore all battling for a starting role.

And with Trezeguet’s chances limited, he now returns to Turkey for the rest of the campaign with Istanbul Basaksehir.
Gerrard was asked about the star’s future earlier before the transfer announcement, and he said: “I think there will be an announcement in the next few hours on Trezeguet’s sequel.
“He’ll be on loan and playing, I think that’s the right thing for him.
“He’s been out for seven months with a career-threatening injury, he’s back in a good place so he needs to go play and then we’ll discuss his situation in the summer.”
